Three Days of Sea Therapy for Tired, Overstretched Workers

A short thalassotherapy break with sleep support improved mood, wellbeing, sleep and alertness in healthy working adults.

Unusually, this study looked at healthy working people rather than patients, following a group through three days of thalassotherapy, seawater-based treatments, paired with sleep-management guidance at a coastal resort in Brittany. Using both questionnaires and objective measures, the researchers found improvements in mood, general wellbeing, fatigue and alertness, alongside longer measured sleep by the second night. The suggestion is that combining marine treatments with deliberate attention to sleep may restore depleted, overstretched workers within a short window. This was a small study measuring people before and after with no comparison group, published in a minor journal, so it is an early signal rather than firm proof. For a high-achieving woman running on empty, it lends tentative support to the instinct that a few days of sea, rest and structured recovery can genuinely reset mood and energy.
